Artist Statement

My work focuses on questioning self awareness while delving into the human experience. Investigating the “breakthrough” phenomenon, my curiosity comes to play at moments that cause our human psyche to experience and enact change. I use our human connection to nature and interconnectivity to describe this feeling. The relationship between self and environment impacts how we interact and the reality we get to tune into. Portals, voids, intersecting landscapes, and first person perspective are all visual translations that play with perception in the work. Through spatial awareness and even questioning “the invisible”, we begin to tap into parts within, revealing those grand AHA moments. Paying attention to the signs from the universe allow us to pave this path into new perceptions and have a higher understanding of the journey.

Artist Bio

Loren Malul is a contemporary surrealist oil painter. She currently resides in South California and is pursuing her MFA from California State University in San Bernardino. Loren plans to continue building her portfolio while also teaching aspiring artists.
